The mission of the
Lake Management Committee is to promote the protection, enhancement, conservation, restoration, and understanding of the precious water resources of Penn Lake. 

The committee will cover such things as lake stocking, overall lake restoration, lake biology, wildlife, and education.  The activities promoted here will be fun and educational for both the parents and children of Penn Lake. 

Lake Statistics for Penn Lake:

  • Drainage Area:   Approximately 5.6 square miles
  • Elevation:   1322 (Bar.) referred to C.R.R. of N. J. levels
  • Shape:  Long and Irregular; maximum length 3150 feet; maximum width 1350 feet
  • Area:   51.2 acres
  • Capacity:   577 acre-feet or 188,000,000 gallons
  • Depth:   Prevailing 20 feet; maximum 27 feet
  • Dam:   Earth and stone embankment, 600 feet long, controlling a head of approximately 40 feet
  • Inlet:   Wright Creek, 20 feet wide, 3 to 4 inches deep, flowing through clean gravelly channel
  • Outlet:   Wright Creek, 20 feet wide, 3 to 4 inches deep, flowing through clean gravelly channel
